I visited Cleaner Quicker because my vehicle was filthy inside and out. I’d read previous reviews and was concerned as to how well they’d perform, but I believe in supporting local businesses and making decisions based on my own experiences…. versus those of others.
I find people are more willing to complain online, rather than write good reviews, which is why I am here. I believe this place deserves a chance to be successful.
They’ve done wonders with the building. Just ask the owner how much work they had to do to bring the business up to acceptable standards. They replaced the entirety of washing mechanisms with brand new, top of the line systems! Ask how extensively they treat the water used to wash the cars. It’s impressive. There’s free WiFi, comfy chairs, snacks, ice cream and beverages for sale and free, freshly popped popcorn. (GMO corn, I’m sure, but one step at a time here) There’s a great patio to relax on. There are magazines and newspapers as well. I don’t mind waiting in a place like this.
When I pulled in, there were 2 cars ahead of me. I waited under 10 minutes. I opted for full service. I was approached by an attendant who handed me a list of wash options. I couldn’t decipher the enormous amount of information easily, so I asked “What’s the differences?” and was given a 30 second synopsis that allowed me to make a decision…QUICKLY.
I opted for Platinum, inside and out.
Silver is about $7, Gold $13 and Platinum $23, double it if you’re doing interior as well. The differences lie in how deeply the car is cleaned ie: remove bugs, vacuum inside. They charge extra for oversized cars, additional seat rows…as well as extra dirty cars. To be expected.
When I lived in Dallas, TX, I paid a minimum of $70. I got out of there paying $50. I’m instantly happy.
I waited 90 minutes total, and listened to a few other customers whine about the wait, but most of the customers took the opportunity to make new friends and enjoy the beautiful day with some lovely conversations to pass the time. There must have been 20 vehicles being worked on- they were exceptionally busy, so what is to be expected other than it’s going to take a little longer than normal to complete the job, assuming you want it done right?
I watched a female attendant work very hard on my car and often times someone would come by to spot check the quality of her work. I thought I’d give a 10% tip, 15% if it looked good, but I ended up tipping $20 because of the level of hard work that attendant provided my vehicle. a 90 minute wait is nothing- it would’ve taken me that much time just to vacuum the interior! These guys are professionals, so I figure let the experts do what they do….I couldn’t possibly have done it quicker or gotten it cleaner, than they did.
Granted, there were 3 minimal water stains on the exterior she could’ve dried, but overall the car was shining and dry. There were some tight crevices like the cup holder that had a little bit of debris left over, but after watching her work so hard on my car in the blazing sun, I am satisfied, considering the condition of the car when I brought it in.
After the wash, I accidentally met the new owner Bill. He is friendly, experienced and a kind gentleman who genuinely cares about quality and reputation. He is working to build his business and is open to doing whatever it takes to satisfy the community. We even discussed adding organic snacks and air fresheners. this is Sedona after all. He then invited me for a tour of the new equipment and explained how it works, why it’s superior and what had been done to make overall improvements of the business. Blood, sweat, tears and money. He does care. He’s a good man with a big heart, so if you’re unhappy, remember it is all in how you approach a person.
It’s normal to express dissatisfaction, just remember these folks are human too, and they might just make mistakes or fall short of your expectation. So if you attack someone verbally, expect them to be defensive. Asking them to complete the job to your standards is a whole different animal. These guys clearly invested a lot into this business and want to serve our community, well.
In my opinion, if we don’t want to do the work of washing our cars ourselves and we don’t want to have to drive to Cottonwood either, then logically, we owe it to them to treat them with respect while helping them learn how to tweak their business practices to satisfy us locals.
Give them a chance, give them feedback and above all, be reasonable!
